We will continue to use Sadlier's Bilingual Sacrament Program, Believe, Celebrate, and Live/Creer,

What is the Sacrament of Penance?
We learn that the sacrament of Penance is the second sacrament we must receive before we make our First Communion. When we choose to turn away from God's love we become separated from Him through sin. Sin is a choice to disobey God. When we sin we must ask God to forgive us by partaking in the Sacrament of Penance and confessing our sin to a priest.
Our priests have received a special authority from the church to forgive our sins. He acts in the person of Christ. Through this sacrament of Penance, we receive God's Grace and forgiveness. We say special prayers in a particular order when we confess our sins. It is important to know and memorize these prayers. Sanctifying Grace heals us from our sins and helps us to choose to obey and love God. It is good to go to Confession regularly and necessary when we have sinned. If we have committed a serious sin we must receive penance before we receive Communion the next time.
What is the Sacrament of the Eucharist?
We learn that Jesus gave us the gift of the Eucharist at the last supper. We celebrate the last supper during Liturgy of the Eucharist during mass. In the Eucharist, we remember Jesus' Death and Resurrection. We also remember the many gifts God has given to us. We offer these gifts and ourselves to God. During the Communion rite the bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is the consecrated Host, which becomes the Body of Christ.
When we eat the bread and drink from the cup we proclaim Jesus' death for us. We receive Jesus Christ himself in Holy Communion. The Eucharist is the center of our lives.
